The Roman Catholic Diocese of Mogi das Cruzes ( Latin Dioecesis Crucismogiensis , Portuguese Diocese de Mogi das Cruzes ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Mogi das Cruzes in the state of São Paulo .
history
The diocese of Mogi das Cruzes was founded on June 9, 1962 by Pope John XXIII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Quo christiana from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of São Paulo and the Diocese of Taubaté . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of São Paulo as a suffragan . On January 30, 1981, the diocese of Mogi das Cruzes gave up parts of its territory to establish the dioceses of Guarulhos and São José dos Campos .
