The Diocese of San Jose de Antique ( lat. : Dioecesis Sancti Iosephi de Antiquonia ) is on the island of Panay in the Philippines located Roman Catholic diocese , based in San Jose de Antique . It includes the province of Antique .

history

Pope John XXIII established the territorial prelature of San Jose de Antique with the Apostolic Constitution Novae cuiusque on March 24, 1962 from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of Jaro .

On November 15, 1982 it was raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Cum Decessores and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Jaro as a suffragan diocese.
