The Diocese of Uruguaiana ( Latin Dioecesis Uruguaianensis , Portuguese Diocese de Uruguaiana ) is a Roman Catholic diocese based in Uruguaiana, Brazil, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul .
The diocese was founded on August 15, 1910 by Pope Pius X from the Archdiocese of Porto Alegre . In 1960, areas were assigned to the establishment of the Diocese of Bagé and 1961 to the establishment of the Diocese of Santo Ângelo .
It is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Santa Maria .
