Bjorn Nordberg

Björn Nordberg (born June 21, 1966 ) is a former soccer player . The goalkeeper denied his higher-class career exclusively with Halmstads BK .

Career

Nordberg came from BK Start to Halmstads BK in Allsvenskan in early 1984 . First he was there behind Eggert Gudmundsson substitute goalkeeper, but in the course of the 1986 season he pushed him between the posts. However, he was only about a year goalkeeper, after an injury, however, he inherited the newly signed Thomas Lansing from the end of June 1987. After relegation to the second division at the end of the season, he was again from 1988 onwards. Under coach Stuart Baxter , he rose again with the team at the end of the season and just missed the final round for the Swedish championship title at the side of Stefan Lindqvist , Jonas Dahlgren , Torbjörn Arvidsson and Tommy Frejdh as fifth at the end of the 1989 season . The team did not confirm the success, at the end of the 1991 season there was relegation to the second division.

Then the former substitute goalkeeper Håkan Svensson established himself as a regular goalkeeper, with the direct resurgence in late 1992, Nordberg only played two season games. By the end of the 1998 season , he then played a total of twelve league games in the Allsvenskan. At the 1997 championship he remained without a game, as was Svensson when he won the 1995 national cup in goal. Only in the UEFA Intertoto Cup and the UEFA Cup was it used more often. In July and August 1998 he represented the injured Svensson, including the end of July the games in the qualifying for the UEFA Champions League against the Bulgarian representative Litex Lovetsch , where the team was eliminated after a 2-0 defeat in the first leg despite a 2-1 return success . In the 3-0 win over Trelleborgs FF on the last day of the game on November 8, 1998, he was substituted on a few minutes before the end of the game, in stoppage time he missed a penalty .

Then Nordberg let Ullareds IK end his career in the amateur area. He later worked as a goalkeeping coach in lower-class Swedish football.
