Jonas Dahlgren (born February 17, 1966 ) is a former Swedish football player . The offensive player ran for Halmstads BK , Helsingborgs IF and Trelleborgs FF in the Allsvenskan .

Career

Dahlgren made his adult debut for the amateur club Påarps GIF in the mid-1980s. As an attacking midfielder , he quickly made a name for himself in a higher class and moved to the then second division team Halmstads BK in early 1988. The previous year’s relegated team fought a three-way battle for the championship in the southern season under the newly signed coach Stuart Baxter with Mjällby AIF and Kalmar AIK . At first, Dahlgren was still a substitute player, who was substituted on primarily for one of the storm duo set with Mats Lundgren and Stefan Lindqvist , before he had fought for a regular place after the first third of the season. With eight goals this season, Dahlgren ultimately contributed to the promotion due to the better goal difference compared to the MAIF with the same points . He was also one of the regulars in the 1989 premier league season , when he was fifth in the table and narrowly missed qualifying for the championship finals with the team around Torbjörn Arvidsson , Jan Jönsson , Tommy Frejdh , Björn Nordberg and Ulf Jönsson .

Despite the success, Dahlgren left after two seasons in which he had scored 14 goals in 40 games for Halmstads BK, the club and returned to his home in Helsingborg . There he joined the then second division Helsingborgs IF. There he was, alongside Mats Magnusson , Henrik Larsson , Anders Jönsson and Lino Boriero, the backbone of the team that clearly prevailed in the relegation against IFK Sundsvall at the end of 1992 with a 3-0 home win and a 6-1 away win and rose to the Allsvenskan . He had scored twelve goals in 33 games this season, last year he had already scored double-digit with ten goals this season and had been voted Player of the Year by the club. In 1994 he lost with the club the final of the Swedish Men's Football Cup after Golden Goal against league rivals IFK Norrköping .

In early 1996, Dahlgren moved within the Allsvenskan to Trelleborgs FF, but where he only ran for one season and scored two goals in 15 games. He then let his active career end with his hometown club Påarps GIF until the end of the 1990s . He later worked there as a coach, and in 2004 he made a brief comeback as a player-coach. In 2012 he took over the coaching position at the seventh division Fortuna FF , which he left at the end of 2014.
