The Blütlinger Holz is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Wustrow (Wendland) in the joint municipality of Lüchow (Wendland) in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 173 is 308.0  hectares . It overlaps with the FFH area "Landgraben- und Dummeniederung" (300.0 hectares) and the EU bird sanctuary of the same name (291.5 hectares). The 84.3 hectare “Blütlinger Holz” natural forest reserve, designated in 1972, has been included in the nature reserve. Here the forest is left to its natural development. The area has been a nature reserve since January 16, 1989. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Lüchow-Dannenberg district.

The nature reserve is located south of Wustrow (Wendland) on the state border with Saxony-Anhalt within the Elbhöhen-Wendland nature park . It places an alder forest area with high groundwater and areas with mixed oak and beech forests under protection. The forest area is u. a. Habitat of endangered plant and animal species. Within the reserve are also reed areas and large sedge Ried to find areas. In some places, areas are used as grassland .

In the south of the nature reserve there is a remnant strip of the former inner-German border , to the south of it there is another wooded area in the form of the Salzwedeler Forest on damp locations.

A former soil extraction area on the edge of the forest area in the east is included in the nature reserve as a renaturation area. Only a few paths are open to visitors to calm the area. Most of the trails in the nature reserve are completely closed during the breeding and setting season from March 1st to August 15th.
