The Planken and Schletauer Post is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipalities of Lemgow in the joint municipality of Lüchow (Wendland) and Prezelle in the joint municipality of Gartow in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 256 is 535  hectares . It is largely part of the FFH area "Landgraben- und Dummeniederung" and the EU bird sanctuary of the same name . In the southeast, it is adjacent to the conservation area "Arendsee". The area has been under nature protection since August 2, 2003. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Lüchow-Dannenberg district.

The nature reserve is located in the southeast of the Wendland on the border with Saxony-Anhalt within the Elbhöhen-Wendland nature park . It places a forest area under protection on predominantly wet to damp locations in the transition from the land ditch to the Gartower drifting sand hill. In its southern area, the Schletauer Post, it is predominantly characterized by swamp and swamp forests with embedded near-natural still waters , reeds , wet meadows and wet bushes. In this area, the forest area is also crossed by several watercourses. In the south and west, agricultural areas adjoin the forest area, which are included in the nature reserve. The terrain rises slightly to the north. Light mixed oak forests , rich in old wood, predominate here, and pine stands also grow on the drier locations of the old dunes . The area is drained centrally by the Lucie Canal , which drains west and flows into the Jeetzel north of Lüchow .

The “Fourteen Trenches” cultural monument is located in the Schletauer Post area . These are the remains of a customs post from the 14th and 16th centuries, which was located on an old traffic route between the Wendland and the Altmark .
