The Lucie is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony municipality of Trebel and the city of Lüchow (Wendland) in the joint municipality of Lüchow (Wendland) and the municipality of Gusborn in the joint municipality of Elbtalaue in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district .

The origin of the name is not clear. It is possibly derived from Drawanopolabic , the West Slavic language spoken here earlier, and means something like pasture, meadow, swamp, swampy lowland .

The nature reserve with the sign NSG LÜ 006 is 1,711.6  hectares in size. It is part of the EU bird sanctuary "Lucie". In the northeast it borders on the landscape protection area "Langendorfer mountain". The area has been a nature reserve since June 28, 1951. The responsible lower nature conservation authority is the Lüchow-Dannenberg district. The nature reserve is located southeast of Dannenberg (Elbe) and northeast of Lüchow (Wendland) within the Elbhöhen-Wendland Nature Park . It places a near-natural forest with old wood under protection. The forest is a drained, former quarry forest in the Jeetzel Niederung, which is managed as a natural economic forest and as a light forest.

Parts of the area are poo . At the time it was placed under protection, peat was still being extracted in peat cuttings. The forest area is an important habitat for birds and butterflies.
