character

The Bleichenbach is a silicate low mountain range. Its catchment area covers 39.1 km². On its way from the source to the mouth it has a gradient of about 202 m. Its slopes are mostly relatively steep. While its upper reaches characterize forest areas, its floodplains are mainly used for agriculture, with pastures on the middle course and arable land on the lower course. Below the village of Bleichenbach, its course is relatively straightened and expanded.

Water quality

In its course, the Bleichenbach is used as a rubbish dump and rubbish dump, which severely affects the quality of the water; in some areas it is rated 3 to 4. It is therefore far removed from near-natural water with a water quality ≤ 2. The upper reaches in particular are in poor ecological condition.
