Blue Jeans ( English for 'blue jeans') is a song by the German pop singer and rapper Celine . The piece is the sixth single release in Celine's career.

Creation and artwork

Blue Jeans was written by Celine herself - under her real name "Celine Dorka" - together with co-authors Jennifer Allendörfer (Suena), Luís-Florentino Cruz ( Lucry ), Karo Schrader and Yanek Stark (Kenay). The production was done through the collaboration of Lucry and Suena. The mastering took place under the direction of the Berlin sound engineer Lex Barkey .

On the front cover of the single you can see - next to the artist name and song title - Celine, sitting on the windshield of a car. She wears a Bucket Hat , a short sleeved blazer and a pair of shorts , which are all the same color plaid and a sunglasses , a top , raised Nike socks and plateau sports shoes , all of them white. She also wears a gold necklace and a gold bracelet around her left wrist. The photograph was taken during the music video shoot for Blue Jeans , during which Celine also wore the outfit in one scene. The artwork is from this bobby and Ivan.

Publication and promotion

The first publication of blue jeans took place as downloading and streaming on July 24, 2020. The release was made as a single track by the music labels A Million, BTGS and Groove Attack . The song was published by Beatgees Publishing and BMG Rights Management . To promote the song, Celine first uploaded a screenshot from the accompanying music video on her social media on July 2, 2020 . During the month of July 2020, she published more screenshots with lines of text from the song.

The lyrics to Blue Jeans are, contrary to what the English title suggests, in German . "Blue Jeans" translated into German means something like "Blue Jeans ". The music and the text were written and composed jointly by Celine, Kenay, Lucry, Karo Schrader and Suena. Musically, the song moves in the realm of German hip-hop and rap . The tempo is 120 beats per minute . The key is A flat minor . In terms of content, she describes her parents and their relationship with them in the first stanza, and in the second stanza and in the chorus, her life after the commercial breakthrough.

The song is based on an intro , two verses and a chorus . The song begins with the intro, which is simply composed of the repetitive exclamation "Ai-ai-ai-ai-ai, yes". The exclamation is repeated three times. The first is from Celine himself, the second from Lucry and the third from Suena. The intro is followed by the refrain for the first time, before the first verse of the piece follows. The first verse is followed by the refrain, which is repeated here. The music video for Blue Jeans celebrated on July 23, 2020 at 23:59 premiered on YouTube . She published a first screenshot on July 2, 2020 on her social media. The video shows Celine singing the song in different situations. In one scene you can see her wearing street clothes in a paddling pool on the grounds of a car repair shop. Another scene shows her passing the time in front of and in a motel . In the third scene she can be seen at a photo session . In addition, there are two different scenes in which Celine is hanging out with her friends. In one of the scenes they play Monopoly and celebrate in a different celebrate outdoors and organize drag race . The total length of the video is 3:12 minutes. Directed by Hely Doan and Traviez the Director. To date, the music video has over 600 thousand views on YouTube (as of July 2020).

Blue Jeans reached position 39 in the single charts in Germany and was in the charts for a total of two weeks. The single was ranked 36th in the German midweek charts of the first week of sales. The single was ranked 40th in the German streaming charts . Furthermore, the single was ranked one day in the German iTunes daily evaluations and reached rank 93 on July 24th 2020, the day of its publication.

For Celine as a writer and performer, Blue Jeans is the fourth chart success in the German single charts. Lucry reached the German single charts for the 15th time as a producer and for the eleventh time in his writing. For Suena it is the fifth chart success in Germany as a producer and after Matrix ( Apache 207 ) and Fame (Apache 207) the third as an author. Kenay reached the German single charts for the second time in his writing with blue jeans after tears from Kajal (Celine). For Schrader, this is also the second author's contribution to the German charts, he had already hit the charts with Meine 3 Minuten ( Freschta Akbarzada feat. Sido ).
