The Bocayna Express is a catamaran - fast ferry of the shipping company Fred. Olsen Express . It has been in service since the end of 2003 between Playa Blanca on Lanzarote and Corralejo on Fuerteventura .
General
The ship was built with the hull number 196 by the Australian Austal Ships Pty Ltd and delivered on September 7, 2003. The Bocayna Express is named after the strait it crosses. The catamaran is four marine diesel engines of the types MAN B & W driven 18VP185 and 12VP185, each to a water jet propulsion of KaMeWa act. With a drive power of 14,000 kW, a speed of 31 knots is achieved. The Bocayna Express only needs 15 minutes for the eight nautical mile crossing .
The Bocayna Express is designed for 436 passengers and up to 69 passenger cars . The vehicle deck has a length of 110 lane meters , a height of 4.6 m and can be loaded or unloaded via a bow ramp and a tailgate.
