Bodo Fründt

Bodo Fründt (born September 16, 1945 in Ludwigslust ; † December 2, 2014 in Munich ) was a German film journalist , film critic and author.

Life

Fründt attended high school in Bad Salzuflen, then Düsseldorf and Cologne, and began his career as a journalist for the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger . From 1978 to 1982 he worked as a film editor for the star . He worked as a freelancer for Die Zeit , Die Welt am Sonntag and the Süddeutsche Zeitung , among others . As an author, he has also written books on Alfred Hitchcock and German film in Cannes and has translated film books.

From 1983 to 1993 Fründt ran the film production company Nord-Süd-Film with Rolf Thissen . Both made documentaries for ZDF , BR , WDR and NDR , including full-length films about Francis Ford Coppola and Martin Scorsese .

Another field of activity for Fründt were film festivals such as the Berlinale and the Hof Film Festival . At the Munich Film Festival he was in charge of press and editorial work and, as editor-in-chief, was responsible for the Film Festival catalog and all other publications at the Film Festival and the Munich International Festival of Film Schools . He taught as a lecturer at the University of Television and Film in Munich .
