Bollensen is a district of the town of Uslar in the southern Lower Saxony district of Northeim with 438 inhabitants.
Geographical location
Bollensen is located on the southern foothills of the Solling and Solling-Vogler Nature Park in the Rehbach valley at about 167 m above sea level. NN . The core town of Uslar is about 3 km to the east , the district town of Northeim is 30 km to the east, the next major city, Göttingen , is a good 31 km to the southeast and the state capital of Hanover is about 100 km north of Bollensen (depending on the beeline ). The village is surrounded by fields and meadows that merge further east and a few kilometers further north into the dense high forests of the Solling.
history
Bollensen was first mentioned in a document in 1062. In the Middle Ages it belonged to the domain of the Lords of Uslar . Lippoldsberg Monastery was also the holder of tithe rights . In 1303 the von Uslar family claimed the feudal right to the tithe at Bollensen, but ceded it to the Lippoldsberg monastery in return for the payment of 11 silver marks .
Since the territorial reform of March 1, 1974, the formerly independent municipality has belonged to the newly founded large municipality of Uslar.
Infrastructure
The place is on the federal highway 241 east of Uslar and 15 kilometers west of Hardegsen . There are regular bus connections in the direction of Uslar and Hardegsen / Northeim.
economy
There are hardly any commercial jobs in Bollensen. Agriculture and forestry no longer play a significant role either, so that most of the economically active residents now commute to neighboring cities. There are few shops for daily needs in the village. Further shops are located in the core city of Uslar and in the surrounding cities.
Attractions
The Martinikirche, whose parish belongs to the parish of Leine-Solling , was built in 1883 and has a font from 1679. The design comes from the Hanoverian building officer Conrad Wilhelm Hase .
