Borislava Stefanova Borisova ( Bulgarian Борислава Борисова ; born February 27, 1951 in Bulgaria ) is a Swedish chess player of Bulgarian origin.
Life
She grew up in Bulgaria, later married a Swede and moved to his homeland in 1977. In 1976 she won the Bulgarian Women's Championship in Sofia and took part in the 10th women's tournament in Halle that same year .
Because of her international success, she received the title of International Women's Champion (WIM) from FIDE in 1974 .
From 1978 she played for the Swedish Chess Federation and for several years only tournaments in France and in the Swedish Allsvenskan for the second team of the Stockholm club Wasa SK , since 2016 she has played occasionally in the second team of the Hamburg club SK Johanneum Eppendorf .
Candidates tournaments
She won the 1979 women's zone tournament in Tel Aviv ahead of Barbara Hund . She played her first women's interzonal tournament in 1979 in Rio de Janeiro . The Bad Kissingen interzonal tournament followed in 1982 . She also took part in the zone tournaments in 1985 (north) and 1987 in Gausdal .
Chess Olympiads
She played the women's chess Olympiads for Sweden in 1978 in Buenos Aires , 1980 in Malta , 1982 in Lucerne , 1984 and 1988 in Thessaloniki , as well as 1992 in Manila and 1994 in Moscow .
In 1978 and 1992 she won the bronze medal in the individual ranking (1978 on the first board, 1992 on the second board).
More tournaments
She took part in the Rilton Cup 1978 , women's tournament in Hyères 1981, Nordic Chess Cup 1985, women's tournament in Dortmund 1988, Nordic Chess Cup 1989, 12th Zalakaros Open 1993 , Kristallen KM 1994 and Kristallen KM Open 1995 in Stockholm , and Kristallen ELO 2004 and Kristallen ELO 2005 in Sweden.
She took part in the European Women's Club Cups in 2003 and 2004 with the Stockholm club Kristallens SK .
In France she took part in the following tournaments: in Paris in 2008 the 105e open international Club , also in 2008 the N3-R1-France and the N3-R4-France , as well as the Corporatif-R1-2-France and in 2009 the Corporatif-R5- 6-France .
