Boschwitz , Bošac in Lower Sorbian , was a district of Groß Beuchow when it was demolished in 1960 . It fell victim to the Schlabendorf-Nord opencast mine . The number of resettled people is not known.

Boschwitz was located in Niederlausitz, southwest of Lübbenau in the former Calau district.

history

The place name is derived from the Sorbian name "Boš" as a patronymic name. Boschwitz was originally a village with 7 farmers. In 1538 it came under the rule of Lübbenau. During the Thirty Years' War , the village fell into desolation. Around 1640 the rule of Lübbenau built a sheep farm and a farm next to the former location. After 1850 Boschwitz was incorporated into the community of Groß Beuchow. In contrast, the place was parish in Hindenberg.
