history

Local history

The tradition of the place name begins relatively late, around 1400 Eystorff , 1447 Yserstorff , 1509 Eygestorf and 1573 as Eisdorff . The Lower Sorbian form of the name was called Schtańojze in 1761 and Stańšojce in 1843 . The German name probably contains a personal name beginning with Eig , such as Eighardt . This form had already been abolished when the Lower Sorbian name was formed. This is a patronymic formation of the personal name Staniš , a short form of the name Stanislav or Stanimir , with the suffix -ojce .

As a result of the Congress of Vienna , Eisdorf came to the Kingdom of Prussia with the entire Lower Lusatia and belonged to the district of Calau . With the Brandenburg district reform in 1950, Eisdorf and other communities left the Calau district, which was converted into the Senftenberg district, and was incorporated into the Lübben district (Spreewald) . In 1952 the places came to the newly founded district of Calau .

On January 1, 1967, Eisdorf was incorporated into Kittlitz. In 1976 there were seven agricultural properties in Eisdorf. As early as 1960, they had merged to form the Type I agricultural production cooperative "United Force".

On October 26, 2003, Kittlitz with its parts of the municipality including Eisdorf and the places Boblitz , Groß Beuchow , Bischdorf , Groß Klessow , Hindenberg , Groß Lübbenau , Klein Radden , Leipe and Ragow were incorporated into Lübbenau / Spreewald as districts.

Eisdorf belongs to the Lower Lusatia church district .
