history
Klein Beuchow was first mentioned in 1450 under the name Weynigen Bychow . As with Gross Beuchow , the place name is derived from the personal name Bych . This name may indicate the possession of the village, i.e. the village of the Bych .
In 1693 Klein Beuchow was bought by the Counts of Lynar . In 1723 there were 18 campfire sites , an inn and a windmill in the village . Later the Klein Beuchower Herrenhof was given up and the Klein Beuchower lands were cultivated from the Groß Beuchower manor . The windmill, which was rebuilt in 1849, burned down in the middle of the 20th century.
After the Congress of Vienna , Lower Lusatia and with it Klein Beuchow came to the Kingdom of Prussia . In 1950, Klein Beuchow became part of the Lübben district and in 1952 the new Calau district. On January 1, 1956, Klein Beuchow became a district of the community of Groß Beuchow , which in turn was incorporated into the city of Lübbenau / Spreewald on October 26, 2003, together with nine other previously independent communities .
