Zützschdorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Zützschdorf is a modern desert in the Saalekreis in Saxony-Anhalt . It was destroyed by lignite mining in the Geiseltal .

Geographical location

Zützschdorf was in the Geiseltal north of Braunsbedra . Neighboring towns were Graefendorf in the west, Benndorf in the northwest and Wernsdorf in the east. The former local corridor is now in the southeast of the Geiseltalsee , one kilometer from the Braunsbedraer Ufer.

In the Middle Ages, the hostage had two arms in the area between Neumark and Körbisdorf. The southern arm, which later fell dry, passed Zützschdorf and formed the border with Benndorf.

history

Zützschdorf was first mentioned as "Zibuchesdorph" in the Hersfeld tithe directory , which was created around 838 and is based on awards made by Charlemagne in 777. In 1562 the place was called Zutzsendorf and in 1594 as Zutschdorf . In 991, Adilint, the wife of Bruno von Querfurt , donated Zidici (Zützschdorf or Zeuchfeld) to the monastery in Goseck, along with other places in southern Hassegau . Zütschdorf remained under the patrimonial jurisdiction in Goseck until the judicial system was reorganized in the early 19th century. Ecclesiastically it always belonged to Benndorf. From the end of the 16th century there is evidence of its own school in the village.

Until 1815, Zützschdorf belonged to the Wettin , later Electoral Saxon office of Freyburg . The decisions of the Congress of Vienna the place to Prussia came only in 1816 the county Querfurt in the administrative district of Merseburg of the Province of Saxony assigned to which he belonged until 1944th

In 1915 the village received an aqueduct and in 1928 it was one of the last in the area to have electric lights. During this time, more and more farmers sold their farms to the mining companies, who converted them into workers' accommodation. On October 1, 1936, Zützschdorf was assigned to the neighboring Wernsdorf. Due to the administrative reform in 1950, parts of the Querfurt district became part of the Merseburg district . As a result, Zützschdorf and Wernsdorf became districts of Benndorf on July 1, 1950. Because of a landslide near Neumark in 1947, the route of the tram route Merseburg – Müelte had to be relocated. It now led right past Zütschdorf, which was given its own stop in this context. However, due to the renewed route relocation in 1952, the village has been far from the tram since then.

In the course of the lignite mining in the Geiseltal , Zützschdorf was resettled in 1956 and dredged ( devastated ) in 1957 . It thus shared the fate of Wernsdorf and Benndorf. At the time of relocation, 130 residents lived in Zütschdorf.
