The Brühlbach is a creek almost one kilometer long in the Großaltdorf district of the small town of Vellberg in the Schwäbisch Hall district in northeastern Baden-Württemberg . After a fairly steady north-westerly run, it flows into the upper Aalenbach from the left at the lower edge of the hamlet of Lorenzenzimmern .

geography

course

The Brühlbach arises southeast of Lorenz rooms at the beginning of his valley between the field bathes mountain fields in the northeast and Strütäcker in the southwest next to both disclosing dirt road in a small blade grove about 456  meters above sea level. NHN . This almost to last only slightly from this dirt road climb removing, the river flows on long right attendant foot of the slope of the mountain lands along and above the rapidly westward remove the Strütäcker on the other side of the valley right straight through the Long Meadows and later the Hofäcker to the northwest.

At about 417  m above sea level. NHN he passes a group of agricultural buildings on the left, at which a similar long stream with a source at Sporn Horn joins after a run mostly along field paths, and a little further on the right the part of the settlement around the Fliederweg, which is separated from the rest of the hamlet Lorenzenzimmern. Between the last houses of Lorenzenzimmer along this state road, he crosses under the L 1040 in the direction of Großaltdorf. After a short rest run, again next to a dirt road along the Lorenzenzimmer settlement edge, it finally flows at about 407  m above sea level. NHN from the left into the upper Aalenbach .

The Brühlbach flows after a 0.9 km long run with a mean slope of about 52 ‰ about 49 meters below its origin.

Catchment area

The Brühlbach has a catchment area of around 0.6 km. , Are from him the natural area , the upper southeastern parts seen in the mountain fields , the Strütäcker and on the Horn together with the upper slopes including in the subspace Burgberg-Vorhöhen and Speltachbucht the Swabian-Franconian Forest Mountains , the deeper the northwest of the mouth to the other hand in the subspace Haller level of Hohenloher and Haller level . The height trough form a fairly flat plateau up to about 462  m above sea level. NHN . From a political point of view, the area belongs entirely to the Großaltdorf district of the small town of Vellberg . Settlement is limited to parts of the hamlet Lorenzenzimmern.

The catchment areas of the following neighboring waters lie in sequence:

  • In the northeast, behind the spur of the mountain fields , the brook from the Devil's Blade runs roughly in the same direction before Lorenzenzimmern to the Aalenbach ;
  • in the south-south-east, behind the highest and hydrologically most important watershed through Bergäcker and Strütäcker, lies the headwaters of the Oberspeltacher Lanzenbach , an upper course of the Speltach that drains to the Jagst , while the Brühlbach receiving water from the Aalenbach feeds the Kocher via the Bühler ;
  • in the southwest, behind the Horn, the Zimmerbach continues downward into the Aalenbach.

Tributaries

Origin of the Brühlbach at about 456  m above sea level. NHN in a small wood of the upper Steigenweg to Bergäckern and Strütäckern southeast over Vellberg - Lorenzenzimmern .

  • (Bach vom Horn ), from the left and about southwest to about 417  m above sea level. NHN on an agricultural building opposite the Fliederweg, approx. 0.7 km and over 0.2 km². Rises at about 442  m above sea level. NHN in a small blade between Horn in the west and Strutäckern in the southeast.

Mouth of the Brühlbach from the left and southeast to about 407  m above sea level. NHN at the lower edge of the village of Lorenzenzimmern in the Aalenbach . The stream is 0.9 km long and has a 0.6 km² catchment area.

geology

In the catchment area of the Brühlbach there is predominantly Gipskeuper ( Grabfeld Formation ), which stretches from the south-southeastern watershed down to the old outskirts of Lorenzzimmer. The sharp upper slope edge at the mountain troughs Beräckern , Strutäckern and Horn is probably caused by the dolomitized Corbula layer (formerly Engelhofer Platte ) in the subsurface of the plateau; In any case, this occurs at approximately the same height in the south as in the west-southwest and outside the catchment area.

Below the outskirts is the Lettenkeuper ( Erfurt formation ), which is overlaid with alluvial land in a narrow tube around the stream, which merges into the alluvial clay strip along the Aalenbach near the mouth.

Nature and reserve

In the Klingenwäldchen at the upper end of its valley cut, the bed of the Brühlbach often lies dry. Then the stream flows in a very straight ditch with an elongated field hedge on the right of the bank, then until its only inflow there is only sporadic bush growth on the bank, whereupon it soon runs completely bare.

The course of the stream stays close to the foot of the right-hand spur of the mountain fields . There is forest there on the slope at the beginning, after which it is taken over a large area between a small wood at the upper bend and sloe hedges at the foot of a protected pasture with poor grass and isolated trees and bushes.

On the left, on the other hand, the valley cut widens sharply immediately after the source blade, under the Strütäckern on this side the line of the mountain foot runs westwards, on the upper slope there is bush and orchards. The source of the only tributary is there on or in another small forest blade near the spur attachment of the horn . In the further course of the spring discharge soon follows field paths laid out at right angles in the flatter terrain, where on this side of the Brühlbach there are mostly fields up to the mouth. Even on the flat plateau above the slope edge, there are arable areas throughout.
