The Zimmerbach is a creek about one and a half kilometers long in the Großaltdorf district of the small town of Vellberg in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in north-eastern Baden-Württemberg , which flows into the middle Aalenbach from the left after a north-western and then western course opposite the east of the village of Großaltdorf .

geography

course

The Zimmerbach arises about half a kilometer east of the Großaltdorf sports field at about 430  m above sea level. NHN just now in the Klausen forest between the mountain top Obere Ebene (approx. 488  m above sea level ) in the south and the mountain promontory Horn (approx. 460  m above sea level ) in the east next to the Schiedweg forest path coming from the upper Oberspeltacher Seebach in the south-east , which immediately after the forest exit continues westward as Herdweg to Großaltdorf. Only a few meters from the edge of the corridor, a somewhat shorter stream channel runs down the entire slope of the Horn from the east and a somewhat longer southern source branch from the central slope below the upper level, both of which are 0.2 km long and about 455  m above sea level . Begin NHN .

The room stream flows from there to the first third of its path northwest, on the first three hundred meters at the lower edge of the forest of the horn along the left bank is predominantly tilled Won Horn pasture is opposed to near an isolated agricultural buildings, and even the L 1040 Lorenz rooms -Großaltdorf . Only fifty meters away from the main road, the stream, which runs in a straight ditch and has been bare since the front spur foot of the horn on the bank, bends there on to its western course. Before and after the driveway that crosses it from the state road to the sports field in the south, there is a little wood on the run in between, after a total of about 600 meters the stream then crosses under the state road. Only beyond this does the brook form a valley basin. Below the Großaltdorf estate Mühlhof, which stands alone on the right, the brook oscillates under a group of trees for the first time since it emerged from the forest between steep and flat banks. The then again treeless, but overgrown with tall shrubs on the banks of the stream and the valley finally turn to the southwest. At about 392  m above sea level. NHN flows from the left less than a hundred meters below the Razenbach tributary and the eastern Ecvk of the Großaltdorf development area opposite in the middle Aalenbach .

The Zimmerbach flows after a 1.6 km long run with an average bed gradient of about 24 ‰ about 38 meters in altitude below the confluence of its two source channels. Apart from these it has no open tributaries.

Catchment area

The catchment area of the Zimmerbach is about 0.7 km². Only about a sixth of this in the southeast above the confluence of the source channels with the rear spur of the Horn and the slope up to the Upper Plain is, in terms of natural space , in the lower area of Burgberg-Vorhöhen and Speltachbucht of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Mountains , the rest, almost up to the Aalenbach valley basin reaching and mostly very flat part in the lower area of the Haller level of the Hohenloher and Haller level . The highest point is up to about 488  m above sea level. NHN high upper level. The natural area boundary roughly follows the tree line, the open part is mostly under the plow. The only settlement area is the Mühlhof on the right above the short lower valley. The entire area is in the Großaltdorf district of Vellberg .

The catchment areas of the following neighboring waters border on that of the Zimmerbach in turn:

  • In the north, the receiving Aalenbach is the closest open body of water;
  • in the northeast the Brühlbach flows in Lorenzenzimmern above and from the left to this;
  • in the southeast, beyond the short, highest and hydrologically most important watershed, lies the headwaters of the Lanzenbach , which drains via the Speltach to the Jagst , while the Aalenbach feeds the Kocher via the Bühler ;
  • in the west-southwest the Steppach moves below the Zimmerbach to the Aalenbach.

geology

The highest geological layer is a little extensive reed sandstone layer ( Stuttgart Formation ) on the high plateau of the Upper Plain . Below that lies the Gipskeuper ( Grabfeld Formation ) for the greater part of the catchment area, and just before crossing the L 1040, the Zimmerbach dug into the Lettenkeuper ( Erfurt Formation ), which then descends in the Unterlauf-Tälchen to the Aalenbach and above it on both sides pending.
