Frankenhardt is a municipality in the district of Schwäbisch Hall in the Franconian north-east of Baden-Württemberg .

Geographical location
Frankenhardt is located in the Hohenloher Land in northeast Baden-Württemberg. The community has a share in the natural areas of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Mountains , Frankenhöhe and Hohenloher-Haller Ebene . The Jagst flows through the municipality .
Neighboring communities
The municipality borders the city of Crailsheim in the north, Stimpfach in the east, Jagstzell in the southeast, Rosenberg in the south , both in the Ostalbkreis , Bühlertann in the southwest , Obersontheim and the city Vellberg in the west .

The former municipality of Honhardt includes the village of Honhardt, the hamlets of Altenfelden, Appensee, Bechhof, Eckarrot, Gauchshausen, Hirschhof, Ipshof, Mainkling, Neuhaus, Reifenhof, Reishof, Sandhof, Steinbach an der Jagst, Unterspeltach, Vorderuhlberg and Zum Wagner, the Belzhof homestead and the living spaces Fleckenbacher Sägmühle, Grunbachsägmühle, Henkensägmühle and Tiefensägmühle. |

The former community of Gründelhardt includes the village of Gründelhardt, the hamlets of Banzenweiler , Birkhof or Birklein, Brunzenberg , Fichtenhaus or Schmierhaus, Hellmannshofen , Hinteruhlberg , Markertshofen , Spaichbühl and Stetten ( Burgstall Stetten ) and the Betzenmühle farm. Furthermore, the abandoned villages Burg Griffenberg and Girsberg, Weiler and Zum Mörder, Vogelsberg and Girsberg, Weiler and Zum Mörder are located in the area of the former municipality of Gründelhardt. On the south bank of the Hinterer Schenkensee lies the castle hill of the Burgstall near the Schenkenseen .
The former municipality of Oberspeltach includes the village of Oberspeltach, the hamlets of Bonolzhof, Steinehaig and Waldbuch and Haus Neuberg (uninhabited forester's house) as well as the abandoned villages of Hofstatt, Reinhartsweiler, Wolfsberg and Burgberg.

history
Frankenhardt was created in the course of the administrative reform on January 1, 1974 through the merger of the formerly independent communities Gründelhardt and Honhardt . A year later, on January 1, 1975, the previously independent municipality of Oberspeltach was incorporated.
politics
The community belongs to the agreed administrative community of the city of Crailsheim. In April 2013, Jörg Schmidt, a graduate in administration, was elected the new mayor with 62.8 percent of the vote. He is the successor to Willi Karle, who retired after 39 years.

Economy and Infrastructure
Public facilities
The fire protection and general help ensure the volunteer fire department Frankenhardt and the base fire department Crailsheim. A total of five emergency vehicles are stationed in the community, two in Gründelhardt, two in Honhardt and one in Oberspeltach. The Frankenhardt volunteer fire brigade can mobilize a maximum of around 100 emergency services.
education
There is a primary school in Frankenhardt-Gründelhardt and the Wilhelm-Sandberger-Schule in Frankenhardt-Honhardt, which has been a community school since the 2014/2015 school year (previously a secondary school with a Werkrealschule ).
