Branko Kostic
Branko Kostić ( Serbian - Cyrillic Бранко Костић ; born August 28, 1939 in Rvasi , Yugoslavia ; † August 20, 2020 in Podgorica , Montenegro ) was a Yugoslav politician of the Union of Communists of Yugoslavia (BdKJ) .
biography
Kostić was from March 1989 to December 1990 Chairman of the Presidium of the Socialist Republic of Montenegro and thus President of this Yugoslav republic.
In 1991 he replaced Nenad Bućin as the representative of Montenegro in the Presidium of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY) . On October 3, 1991, he succeeded Stjepan Mesić as acting chairman of the presidium and thereby nominally president of the SFRY. He held this office until June 15, 1992 and was the last incumbent.
