geography

The place is on the Provinciale Weg 843 between Groesbeek and Milsbeek near the German border . As a district of the municipality of Kranenburg , Grafwegen represents the border town on the German side. The Leigraaf creek rises in Breedeweg , runs through De Horst and Kranenburg and flows into the Wylermeer at Wyler . The De Bruuk marshland , which is part of the Natura 2000 network, extends outside the town center .

history

Large landowners are said to have settled in the first half of the 19th century, after which the places of residence Breedeweg and De Horst are said to have arisen through cultivation .

Sports

The football clubs VV Rood Wit and Groesbeekse Boys are based in Breedeweg . The former will play in the eighth highest soccer league in the Netherlands, the Derde Klasse , on Sundays in the 2018/19 season , while the latter plays its games in the Vierde Klasse , the ninth highest league.
