At 525 meters, the Brehberg is the highest elevation in the urban area of Mechernich in the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Euskirchen .

The mountain is located in the southwest of the city center and there south of the Mechernich district of Urfey . To the west lies the further district of Weyer . To the south is the district of Zingsheim of the municipality of Nettersheim and Keldenich to the west, a district of the municipality of Kall . The Brehberg borders the Weyrer Wald and Hahnenberg nature reserves on the southeast . It is located on the local A3 circular hiking trail, which can be reached from Weyer via the Am Kreuzberg road. This connection provides a connection to the federal highway 477 .

There is an oak cross on the top of the mountain . It was erected in 1996 on the occasion of the 1127th anniversary of Weyer. It comes from Samerberg in the Rosenheim district in Bavaria and is a gift from a farmer friend to the residents of Weyer. In front of it is an information board from the Eifel-Blick initiative . With appropriate weather, visitors have a view of (from west to east): the Zülpicher Börde , Cologne , Weyer, Weiler am Berge , the Astropeiler Stockert , the Siebengebirge , the nature reserve Eschweiler Tal and Kalkkuppen , the Eifel view of the Michelsberg , the Hohe Acht and Zingsheim.
