Breidis Enrique Prescott Consuegra (born May 3, 1983 in Barranquilla ) is a Colombian professional light welterweight boxer.

Amateur career

Breidis Prescott won five Colombian championships as an amateur, most recently in 2004 light welterweight. In 2002 he took part in the light welterweight division of the 19th Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador , where he reached the quarterfinals by beating Anthony Lennox from Guyana. There he reached a draw against local hero Carlos Torres (22:22), with Torres finally being declared the winner by auxiliary points.

In 2003 he started in the light welterweight division at the 14th Pan American Games in Santo Domingo , where he again moved into the quarterfinals by beating Lucas Matthysse from Argentina. Here, too, he reached a draw against Juan de Dios Navarro from Mexico (14:14), who was then also declared the winner through auxiliary points.

In 2004 Prescott won the gold medal in the light welterweight division at the Independence Cup in Santiago de los Caballeros and tried to qualify for the Summer Olympics in Athens , but failed in the American eliminations in Tijuana and Rio de Janeiro each against the American Rock Allen .

Professional career

In July 2005 he played his first professional fight and won each of his 21 fights by February 2009, 19 of them prematurely. He was Colombian light welterweight champion, and Central American champion of the WBC light welterweight and lightweight. His defeated opponents included Jaison Palomeque (4: 0), José Agustín Feria (11: 0), Richard Abril (10: 0) and Humberto Toledo (33: 5).

His younger brother Daulis Prescott (* 1986) is also a professional boxer and was the WBA featherweight world championship challenger in December 2012 .
