Bristol is a city and also the county seat of Liberty County in the US state of Florida with 996 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Bristol is about 60 km west of Tallahassee . To the west of Bristol, the Apalachicola River flows past the city.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 996 inhabitants were distributed over 302 households. The population density was 237.1 inh / km². 82.2% of the population identified themselves as whites , 9.5% as African American , 1.3% as Indians and 0.2% as Asian Americans . 5.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.6% to several ethnic groups. 7.5% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 32.6% of all households lived in 34.0% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 63.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.47 people and the average family size was 3.11 people.

26.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 25.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 25.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 21.7% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 38 years. 49.6% of the population were male and 50.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 33,906, with 33.0% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 91.22% of the population, and Spanish was spoken by 8.78%.

The Torreya State Park and Yon Mound and Village Site are in National Register of Historic Places listed.
