history

BCA's story begins in the classic auction country of England . The first car auction took place 60 years ago in a circus tent in southern England . The auction as an innovative sales channel in the automotive sector was born. The first activities resulted in the "Southern Counties Car Auctions", which was renamed in 1968 to its current name "British Car Auctions", or BCA for short. In 1989 BCA entered the continental European market with the purchase of the “Autoveiling” auction center near Utrecht . Three years later, BCA expanded by taking over the leading Danish auction house “Auto Auktion Vejle and by purchasing the Belgian market leader “Nationale Autojeiling” . BCA Germany started in 1997. The number of countries in which BCA is represented has increased to 12 since then. Today BCA is the European market leader in vehicle marketing.

Auction types

On-site auctions / physical auctions

BCA is auctioning its vehicles in classic physical form in eight BCA centers across Germany:

LiveOnline: Simultaneous bidding in the auction hall and on the Internet

Added to the offsite location comes Wiedemar , which is only open on auction days. On average, a vehicle is physically auctioned at BCA within 45 seconds. Often several hundred vehicles come under the hammer in the course of an on-site auction.

BCA LiveOnline

Since 2004, customers have also been able to take part in physical auctions online; and on an equal footing with the dealers on site in the auction hall.

BCA Online

There are also online-only auctions. A special feature here is the so-called "xBid phase": At the end of an auction , all vehicles run through again and there is the option of submitting a last bid within a generally 25-second countdown. BCA now sells over half of all vehicles "electronically".

BCA LiveBid

In 2012 BCA was the first car marketer to introduce interactive online auctions. This new type of online auction is a merger of on-site and online auction and offers the charm and advantages of both marketing forms. The participants are connected to the auction online and can contact the auctioneers directly via a chat function. BCA LiveBid enables particularly targeted vehicle marketing.

Up to 600 bidders take part in a BCA auction - on site and via BCA LiveOnline or in a purely online auction.

Service portfolio

Over the decades, BCA Germany has developed from an originally classic vehicle marketer to a full-service provider. The company offers "tailor-made service offers for buyers and sellers : from deregistration, advice, inventory management, appraisals, status descriptions as well as fleet and pool car management to invoicing, debt collection , reporting and analyzes to security, various vehicle preparation packages , logistics , document handling and specially developed IT -Solutions".

BCA market price

With the BCA MarktPreis-Service, BCA has been using a new type of pricing tool since spring 2013. In-house price analysts determine up-to-date vehicle prices within 15 minutes on customer request. The basis for the price estimate is, among other things, the data on the approximately 1.4 million vehicles sold annually via BCA. The service can be used, for example, by car dealers who are in a sales call in which the customer wants to trade in a vehicle. By making an inquiry to BCA MarktPreis, the retailer receives the current trade-in price during the sales pitch.

Fleet Control Monitor

Another BCA-specific tool is the FLEET-CONTROL-MONITOR (FCM), a web-based fleet management and remarketing software with which vehicles can be monitored during the entire marketing process. With FCM, customers control the entire process or parts of it, for example, place orders , communicate with everyone involved or operate logistics, document, damage and maintenance management. The developer and provider of the fleet management and remarketing software package "Fleet Control MONITOR 4.0" is the BCA subsidiary FCM GmbH, in which HARTMANN FLEET-Professionals, one of the German market leaders in the field of fleet services, is involved.

Consignor

BCA is the exclusive marketing partner of Daimler Financial Services AG, Nissan Center Europe and Renault. Other consignors can be found in all industries: from automobile manufacturers to vehicle importers, banks, insurance companies, dealers, authorities, fleet operators, rental and leasing companies to car dealers of all sizes.
