Brock Island is located in the western part of the Queen Elizabeth Islands . It belongs to the Northwest Territories of Canada . The 764 km² island is located west of Mackenzie King Island .
The surface of the island is flat (the highest point measures 67 meters), the shape is almost rectangular (37 by 22 km).
Like Mackenzie King Island and Borden Island , it was only discovered during the Canadian Arctic Expedition of 1913–1918. Størker Størkersen reached the island on June 18, 1915. The expedition leader Vilhjálmur Stefánsson named it after Reginald Walter Brock (1874-1935), the director of the Geological Survey of Canada .
