The Rotte is located about 4 kilometers southwest of Ranshofen , on the southern edge of the western Lachforstes , on the L1001  Gilgenberger Straße Blankenbach (near Ranshofen) - Schwand im Innkreis. The place is on the northwestern edge of the Neukirchner Platte . The settlement includes almost 10 buildings, half of which form the Rotte at 380  m on the Griesbach , a small stream to the Inn near Unterrothenbuch , with around 25 residents. In the Lachforst there are some houses in the Neukirchen municipality; they are also listed as a village in the directory of Brunn im Gries and as Griesbach in the directory. They form the protuberance of the Neukirchen area to the west, still on the L1024  Brunnthaler Straße (Straße Reith ), so that Neukirchen there borders on Überackern in the west, but not Schwand on the municipality of Braunau in the north.
