Brzezinka (German Briese ) is a village with about 320 inhabitants in the municipality of Oleśnica in the Powiat Oleśnicki in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship . It is located ten kilometers northeast of Oleśnica ( Oels ).
history
Briese was a majorate of the Imperial Counts of Kospoth . In 1664 Silvius Nimrod , Duke of Oels , died here of a stroke. The residence was built from 1725 for the brothers Carl Christian and Joachim Wenzel Graf von Kospoth and then in 1729–1751 for their three times married niece Anna Sophie von Erbach (1st from Maltzahn, 2nd from Promnitz, 3rd from Kospoth).
The Castle breeze was around 1740, designed by Johann Blasius Peintner built by the builder filler. The rich interior is the work of the sculptor Johann Albrecht Siegwitz , the stonemason Johann Adam Karinger , the Italian plasterers Taroni and Brentani and the painter Franz de Beckers . The single-storey building with the raised central building, in which the vestibule with the parade staircase, the garden room on the ground floor and the large hall on the upper floor are located, is one of the few Silesian residences of the 18th century in which the late Baroque interior design is fully implemented appears. Inside numerous portals, chimneys, stucco decorations. The entire location of the residence between the courtyard and the regular, French-style park with rich sculptures is unusual for Silesia . In 1950 25 sculptures were moved to the park of Wilanów Palace in Warsaw.
