Budhanilkantha Temple

Budhanilkantha ( Nepali बुढानिलकण्ठ ) is a city ( municipality ) in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and belongs to the Kathmandu metropolitan area .
The city, located in the northeast of the Kathmandu district , was created in 2014 by merging the Village Development Committees (VDCs) Bishnu , Budhanilkantha , Chapali Bhadrakali , Chunikhel , Kapan and Mahankal . The urban area covers 35 km².
In the south the urban area borders on that of the capital Kathmandu.
The temple complex of the same name is located in Budhanilkantha .
Residents
At the 2011 census, the VDCs, from which the city of Budhanilkantha emerged, had 107,918 inhabitants (54,185 male) in 26,485 households.
