The castle Bräunlingen is the remnant of a local castle in the city Bräunlingen in Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

Former location of the Nikolauskapelle belonging to the castle from the 12th century

The construction of the castle is attributed to the local nobility, proven in the 12th century. It was destroyed in 1305 and mentioned for the last time in 1358. In that year Count Hug von Fürstenberg committed himself to serve the Bishop of Strasbourg Johann von Lichtenberg with town and castle for ten years.

Remnants of the walls of the former oval castle complex with upper and lower castle terrace are still preserved underground.
