The Castle Neuenburg is an Outbound Spur castle above the Gauchach in the municipality of Blumberg in Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis in Baden-Wuerttemberg .

history

The castle was first mentioned in 1323. In 1409 Albrecht von Blumberg sold it to Heinrich von Almshofen , and in 1506 it was resold to Konrad III. from Schellenberg . In 1525 the castle was set on fire during the Peasants' War ; during the reconstruction, a double half-timbered building was placed on the old two-meter-thick walls . After the death of Johann Franz Berthold von Schellenberg in 1704 and the departure of his widow Elisabeth von Reischach , the buildings stood empty from 1708. In 1742 the Fürstenbergers moved into the fiefdom . The half-timbered building was demolished in 1789 due to the risk of collapse, and three years later the walls of the first floor collapsed on their own. No wall remains of the castle complex have survived.
