The Unterankau castle stable is an abandoned medieval moated castle northwest of the Unterankau part of the municipality of Leuchtenberg in the Upper Palatinate .
Geographical location
The Burgstall is located around 150 meters northwest of the center of Unternankau in the Upper Palatinate district of Neustadt an der Waldnaab in Bavaria . The pond has the dimensions of 20 × 14 meters.
history
The moated castle is first mentioned in 1385 as the seat of the Sibot von Nankau . In the 15th century, the corners of Lichteneck were mentioned here . In 1521 Ulrich von Lichteneck sold the estate to Landgrave Johann IV von Leuchtenberg.
