history

The origins of the association go back to the days of the construction of the port of Mar del Plata , when the workers employed there were looking for a place to practice sports.

On March 29, 1913, it was finally decided to found a club. You just took the first two letters of the names of the engineers and owners of the company that was involved in the port construction. Allard, Doulfus, Sillard y Wiriott became AL-DO-SI-WI, but since the club was registered by telegram and you couldn't use a W, the name became Aldosivi.

At first the club colors were blue, red and white. However, a shop gave them yellow and green jerseys, so they changed the club colors again. The first club president was Pedro Seré. In addition to soccer, other sports were also included in the club, such as basketball, bowling and the shot put.

Between 1913 and 1970 the club always played on a local level with its football department. Then get three titles in a row in the Liga Marplatense de fútbol (1974-1975-1976). Since then, it has not been possible to return to the first division, but has taken part in various promotion tournaments. For example on Torneo Interior (1987–1994), Argentino A de Fútbol (1995–1996, 2000–2004) and Nacional B (1996–2000, 2004–2007). In 1979 there was a serious financial crisis and Aldosivi decided to merge with the teams from the region, Banfield and Talleres. The next two years they carried out under the name Defensores del Puerto . After this time, the rise from the regional league followed and the game operations were resumed as CA Aldosivi.
