Caiuby , full name Caiuby Francisco da Silva (born July 14, 1988 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian football player . He was most recently under contract with FC Augsburg .

Career

Caiuby's preferred position is in the storm . He played in Brazil for São Paulo FC , Corinthians São Paulo , Guaratinguenta and the second division club AD São Caetano .

He moved to VfL Wolfsburg on August 29, 2008 and was given a contract that ran until 2013. On September 24, 2008 he made his debut for VfL in the DFB Cup . In the 7-0 victory over FC Oberneuland , he came at half-time for Mahir Sağlık and scored the goal for the final score. On October 5, 2008, Caiuby made a curious debut in the Bundesliga : In the 65th minute, he came on for Christian Gentner in the game at Schalke 04 . 60 seconds later he scored his first goal to make it 2-1 for VfL Wolfsburg . After a red card for his teammate Ricardo Costa , he was replaced by Alexander Madlung just nine minutes after coming on for tactical reasons . After the 2008/09 season he won the first championship title in club history with VfL Wolfsburg.

In order to be able to continue his development better, he was loaned to the second division club MSV Duisburg in July 2009 for the 2009/10 season. There he should get match practice. After Caiuby had been suspended from the professional squad together with Karim Ziani by coach Steve McClaren during the winter break , he was loaned to FC Ingolstadt , where he received a loan contract until June 30, 2012. For the 2012/13 season Caiuby was firmly committed. He received a three-year contract.

For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Bundesliga for FC Augsburg . There he made his debut on the first match day in the 2-0 defeat of his club against TSG Hoffenheim when he was substituted on in the 55th minute. He scored his first Bundesliga goal for FC Augsburg when he was substituted on in the 46th minute of the game against Bayer 04 Leverkusen on matchday 22 and scored 1-1 in the 58th minute. The game ended 2-2.

During the winter break of the 2018/19 season , Caiuby initially did not return to Augsburg for "private reasons" after his home leave. He missed the preparation and the first two Bundesliga games. After Caiuby was spotted for the first time in a nightclub in Augsburg on the weekend of January 26th, he was removed from the professional squad on January 28th and released . The club offered him to train separately and individually. For FC Augsburg, Caiuby was used in 100 Bundesliga games in which he scored eleven goals.

On February 14, 2019, Caiuby moved to the Swiss first division club Grasshopper Club Zurich on loan until the end of the 2018/19 season . By the end of the season he was in the league nine times in the starting line-up without scoring a goal. He then left the club when his contract ended.

At the beginning of July 2019, Caiuby did not get involved in the preparation of FC Augsburg. After he hadn't found a new club by the end of the transfer period, managing director Stefan Reuter said in early September that there would be no return to the squad for Caiuby, who was not in Augsburg at the time. His contract with FC Augsburg, which ran until June 30, 2020, was terminated in October 2019.
