Camandag Island is the name of an island in Samar Province in the Philippines . It is located about 37 km off the north coast of the island of Biliran , 23 km southwest of Calbayog City and 70 km east of the island of Masbate in the southern part of the central Samar Sea . The island has an area of ​​approximately 9.8 km² and is administered by the municipality of Santo Niño . The two barangays Balatguti and Villahermosa located on the island had 1,177 inhabitants at the 2007 census.

Camandag Island is of volcanic origin. The island has a circular shape, the coastline of which is characterized by shallow bays. The topography of the island has a flat hilly character and rises in the center of the island to over 400 meters above sea level. The vegetation of the island consists partly of dense, tropical vegetation. There is no tourist infrastructure on the island.

Santo Niño Island is 13 km to the south, Karikiki Island is about 10 km to the northwest , Almagro Island is 22 km to the west and Tagapul-an Island is about 39 km to the northwest. Maripipi Island is 37 km southwest .
