coat of arms

The design of the municipal coat of arms of the formerly independent municipality of Capellenhagen comes from the heraldist and coat of arms painter Gustav Völker , who designed all coats of arms in the Hanover region . The municipality was awarded the local coat of arms on June 29, 1938 by the President of the Province of Hanover . The district administrator from Alfeld presented it on August 29 of the same year.

Blazon : "On a blue shield a diagonally right down continuous silver glider ."
Founding of the coat of arms: After the First World War, two Capellenhagen farm boys built themselves a glider with which they made the first flight tests on the now well-known Ithwiesen , and which was made airworthy after months of laborious work. In doing so, the two young men laid the foundation for today's so important gliding on the meadows of the Ith . This outstanding achievement should be documented in the coat of arms.
