Carl Eberhard Graf Taube von Odenkat ( Swedish : Carl Evert Taube af Odenkat ; born April 30, 1854 in Uppsala ; † April 21, 1934 in Kungsholmen , Stockholm ) was a Swedish count , colonel and bailiff . He came from the German-Swedish-Baltic noble family of the " von Taube ".

Career

On March 6, 1872, Carl Eberhard joined the Skaraborg Regiment as a volunteer and passed his Abitur examination in 1874 . He was then a student at the war school and entered the service of the Swedish Queen Josefina in December 1874 as a chamber page . In 1875 he passed his final exam at the war school and was promoted to lieutenant in November of the same year. He then served in the Swedish Life Guard and was promoted to lieutenant in 1880 . With the promotion he took over the function of the castle bailiff at Stockholm Castle until 1889 . On June 9, 1893 he was promoted to captain , with the promotion to major he switched back to the life guards and in 1905 became a lieutenant colonel . His last employment ended up as a colonel in a Swedish division . On April 12, 1912, he took his leave from the Swedish army .

family

Carl Eberhard Taube's grandfather was Gustaf Johann Count Taube von Odenkat (1796–1872). His father was Henning Adolf Count Taube von Odenkat (1826–1880), his brother Henning Gustav Johann Count Taube von Odenkat (1851–1927) had no relevant successor, so that the count's successes were initially transferred to Carl Eberhard. In 1886 he married the opera singer Countess Emma Mathilda Elisabet Grabow (1852-1940), they had three daughters: Eva Gertrud Valfrid Matilda (* 1887), Inga Maria Kerstin Margaret (* 1888) and Irma Agnes Louise (* 1889). Since he had no male descendants, the Count's line of succession passed to his cousin Carl Gustaf Count Taube von Odenkat (1867–1941).
