Carl Friedrich von Sydow

Carl Friedrich von Sydow (born August 2, 1698 in Blumberg ; † April 15, 1763 in Woltersdorf ) was a Prussian district administrator and state director. From 1743 to 1754 he was in charge of the Randow circle and from around 1754 was regional director in Western Pomerania .

He came from the very noble Sydow family . His father George Heinrich von Sydow (* 1661; † 1725) was the heir to Blumberg and had served as an officer first in Danish and then in Swedish services, from which he retired in 1696 as a lieutenant colonel. His mother Eleonore (* 1674, † 1732) was the daughter of Esaias von Pufendorf , a diplomat in the Swedish and Danish services. His younger brother George Wilhelm von Sydow (* 1699; † 1767) became district administrator, his youngest brother Gustav Adolph von Sydow (* 1715; † 1772) became a Prussian officer, most recently major general and head of a garrison regiment.

Carl Friedrich von Sydow served in the Prussian army , from which he resigned as a captain ("Capitain").

In 1743 he succeeded Jürgen Bernd von Ramin as district administrator in the Randow district. He held the office of district administrator until 1754 and became regional director in Western Pomerania around 1754 . His brother George Wilhelm von Sydow followed him in office as district administrator .

After his father's death in 1725, he inherited the Blumberg estate . In 1752 he acquired the Woltersdorf estate from his brother George Wilhelm von Sydow . After the death of his father, George Wilhelm von Sydow inherited his share from 1/4 Woltersdorf and bought the remaining shares from Woltersdorf, but got into economic difficulties.

Carl Friedrich von Sydow married Henriette Sophie (* 1711; † 1789), born von Sack, in 1729. Only two daughters reached adulthood. His daughter Louise Charlotte Tugendreich (* 1730, † 1792) married her relative Carl Friedrich von Sydow, who acquired the Woltersdorf estate through this marriage. The younger daughter Eleonore Henriette (* 1737, † 1782) married Heinrich Carl von der Osten. In 1763, Carl Friedrich von Sydow sold the Blumberg estate to his son-in-law before his death.
