Carl Heinrich Friedrich von Keizer

Carl Heinrich Friedrich Keizer , from 1868 von Keizer , (born September 26, 1802 in Herford , † July 18, 1885 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general and most recently inspector of the artillery and engineering school . He was elevated to the Prussian nobility on April 22, 1868 .

His parents were August Friedrich Keizer, the Boeckel rent manager, and his wife Henriette, née Krummacher.

Career

He attended high school in Minden and after graduating on November 1, 1819, he went as a pioneer in the 6th pioneer department in Minden. On October 1, 1820, he was transferred to the 4th pioneer division in Cologne . There he was appointed portepeef ensign on September 21, 1821 . From October 1, 1821 to September 30, 1823 he was assigned to the United Artillery and Engineering School. He was then transferred back to the 6th Engineer Department on October 1, 1823, where he was aggregated as a second lieutenant on October 2, 1824 and was assigned on September 21, 1829.

On April 1, 1829, he came to the 4th engineering department, but on June 22, 1829, he was assigned to the 3rd engineering inspection and 8th engineering department. On April 1, 1831, he became adjutant of the 3rd Engineer Inspection and on February 1, 1837, he was appointed to the fortification service in Koblenz , where he was appointed Premier-Lieutenant on March 24, 1839 . He came to Minden on July 1, 1840 for the fortification service and to Mainz on March 1, 1843 . Promoted to captain on April 25, 1844 , he became commander of the 1st company of the 4th engineer division on August 30, 1844 . From there he was transferred to the 2nd engineer inspection on November 1, 1849 and appointed interim commander of the 3rd pioneer department in Magdeburg . On March 30, 1850, he was confirmed as commander. Promoted to major on October 10, 1852 , he was transferred to Koblenz and Ehrenbreitstein on March 1, 1853 as an engineer officer . From there he came on October 23, 1855 as a commander in the Guards Pioneer Department and on November 22, 1855 was a member of the examination committee for captains and premier lieutenants of the engineering corps. There he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on May 22, 1858 , and on June 5, 1858, he was transferred to the 5th fortress inspection as an inspector. During the mobilization of 1859, he was transferred to the mobile VII Army Corps as chief engineer officer on June 14, 1859 , but on August 1, 1859 he was again inspector of the 5th fortress inspection. He was also awarded the Order of the Red Eagle III on January 17, 1860 . Excellent with a bow. He was appointed Colonel on July 1, 1860 , and was promoted to the 3rd Pioneer Inspectorate on July 21, 1861. He received the Crown Order III on October 18, 1861 . Class. He was appointed inspector of the 1st Engineering Inspectorate on January 9, 1864 and promoted to major general on June 25, 1864 . He was transferred to the artillery and engineering school as an inspector on April 11, 1865.

During the mobilization for the German War , he was appointed as an engineer officer to the Army High Command of the 1st Army on May 19, 1866. During the war he was in the battle at Münchengrätz and in the battle at Königgrätz . He was then awarded the swords to the Order of the Red Eagle on September 29, 1866 and on December 31, 1866 with the promotion to Lieutenant General with a patent on October 30, 1866. On January 18, 1867 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves and swords on the ring and on June 25, 1867 the Russian Order of St. Anne, 1st class. On September 17, 1867, he was put up for disposal with a pension and on April 22, 1868 he was raised to the Prussian nobility. He died on July 18, 1885 in Berlin and was buried on July 21, 1885 in the Matthaifriedhof .

He married on November 2, 1841 in Minden Wilhelmine Caroline Mathilde von Arnim (* May 6, 1814 - March 12, 1886) from the Gerswalde family. The couple had several children:
