Carl Hinze (born August 30, 1999 in Hildesheim ) is a German track cyclist who specializes in short-term disciplines.
Athletic career
In 2014, Carl Hinze began track cycling after being banned from doing any sport a year earlier due to an illness.
In 2016, Hinze became three-time German junior champion in sprint , keirin and team sprint (with Tilman Ribbeck and Nick Rother ). At the Junior World Championships in the same year he won the bronze medal in the team sprint together with Nik Schröter and Felix Zschocke .
At the 2017 UCI-Bahn World Championships for Juniors in Montichiari , Hinze won silver in the 1000-meter time trial and in the team sprint (with Timo Bichler and Elias Edbauer ). In the team sprint, he drove a new German record time of 44.995 seconds together with Bichler and Edbauer over 750 meters. A few days later he set a new German junior record over 1000 meters with 1: 02.063 minutes.
At the Junior European Championships he won silver over 1000 meters and with Bichler and Edbaur bronze in the team sprint. In the following year Hinze, Marc Jurczyk and Nik Schröter took third place.
In December 2018, Carl Hinze started for the Brandenburg Track Team at the 2018/19 Track Cycling World Cup in Berlin with Anton Höhne and Eric Engler in the team sprint.

One of Carl Hinze's older sisters is track cyclist Emma Hinze . He attended the sports high school in Schwerin ( as of 2018 ).
