Marc Jurczyk (born January 21, 1996 in Böblingen ) is a German cyclist.

Athletic career

Even as a schoolboy, since 2008, Marc Jurczyk has been active as a cyclist, initially as a member of the local RSG Böblingen , where he was looked after by the Olympic champion and multiple world champion Hans Lutz . In 2015 he moved to RSC Turbine Erfurt .

In 2011 Jurczyk became German champion for the first time in the youth single pursuit , the following year he won two championship titles in the juniors. Also in 2013 he was runner-up in the junior world championship in the Omnium , and a year later, together with Manuel Porzner, runner-up world champion in two-man team driving.

In 2016 Marc Jurczyk, who has meanwhile switched to short-term disciplines, took second place in the Keirin at the UEC European Track Championships for Juniors / U23 2016 in Montichiari . At the European Elite Championships in autumn of the same year he finished seventh over 1000 meters. In 2017 he finished sixth in his first participation in an elite World Cup in the Keirin.

Professional

Marc Jurczyk has been a member of the sports promotion group of the federal police in Kienbaum since autumn 2016 and is training to become a federal police officer .
