Michael Scheurer (born February 14, 1975 in Speyer ) is a former German track cyclist .
Michael Scheurer began his cycling career at ARC Pfeil Haßloch and trained on the club's own cycling track . In 1992 he was third in the time trial at the UCI World Junior Championships in Athens . The following year he won two more world championship titles in Perth as a junior, in the time trial and in the sprint . In 1994 he became the German elite time trial champion and third in the keirin . In 1996 he took second place with the team of the Brandenburg State Association at national track championships in team sprints , together with René Hohn and Matthias Schulze . In 1997 he was again third in the Keirin at German track championships. In 1998 he was German champion a second time, in the team sprint, together with Jens Fiedler and Jan van Eijden ; in the Keirin he took third place.
After retiring from competitive cycling on the track, Scheurer competed in road races for the ARC Pfeil Haßloch .
In 1992 and 1993 Michael Scheurer was athlete of the year for the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis .
