Nik Schröter (born June 12, 1998 in Finsterwalde ) is a German track cyclist who specializes in short-term disciplines.

Athletic career

Nik Schröter started cycling at the age of eight in the club of his home town RSV Finsterwalde . In 2007 he won his first road race in the U11. In 2011 he moved to RSC Cottbus and shifted his focus to the short-term disciplines on the track.

In 2014 Schröter became two-time German junior sprint and 500-meter time trial champion , and in the following year he became German junior team sprint champion with Alexander Franz and Moritz Meißner and won bronze in the sprint. In 2016, together with Carl Hinze and Felix Zschocke, he won the bronze medal in the team sprint at the Junior Track World Championships and was German junior champion over the 1000 meters at national level .

From 2018 he started in the elite and became German champions in the team sprint with Maximilian Levy and Maximilian Dörnbach . In 2019 he was nominated for participation in the World Railroad Championships in Pruszków, Poland, at the end of February / beginning of March, but was removed from the list a few days before the start of the World Cup by national coach Detlef Uibel without giving a reason.
