Carl Hubert von Wendt
Carl Hubert Maria Freiherr von Wendt (born January 21, 1832 at Hovestadt Castle ; † December 11, 1903 at Gevelinghausen Castle ) was a German landowner and Center Party politician .
origin
He came from the noble Wendt family from the Papenhausen line (today part of Bad Salzuflen ) and was the son of Franz Freiherr von Wendt (1800-1870) and his first wife Ida Bernhardine Countess von Plettenberg (1806-1834), from the Lenhausen family .
Life
He attended the Knight Academy in Bedburg and the gymnasium paulinum in Munster before in Bonn and Berlin law studied. In 1853 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . Then he was a court or government trainee in Münster and a government assessor in Arnsberg . After that he gave up civil service. He dedicated himself to family property. Among other things, he was the owner of Gevelinghausen Castle .
Because of the family holdings in the Principality of Lippe , Wendt-Papenhausen was a member of the state representation of Lippe-Detmold as a representative of the knighthood between 1864 and 1874. Between 1875 and 1883 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives for the Warburg - Höxter constituency . From 1885 Wendt-Papenhausen was a member of the Prussian manor house . From 1874 to 1893 he was also a member of the Reichstag for the Center Party as a member of the constituency of Minden 5 (Warburg - Höxter) .

Carl Freiherr von Wendt married on June 23, 1868 at Bladenhorst Castle (Westphalia) Maria Freiin von Romberg (born September 24, 1848 at Bladenhorst Castle; † November 11, 1941 at Gevelinghausen Castle), the daughter of Konrad Freiherr von Romberg (1816– 1881) and his second wife Antonia Freiin von Mervelt (1824–1852). One of the descendants was Conrad Freiherr von Wendt .
