Carl Ludwig Golsen (born July 3, 1807 in Zell , now Zellertal ; † November 4, 1872 there ) was a German winery owner, lawyer and member of the Reichstag .

Live and act

From 1823 to 1827 Golsen studied law in Heidelberg , Erlangen and Munich . He became a lawyer at the Court of Appeal of the Palatinate in Zweibrücken .

In 1833 he defended the co-organizer of the Hambach Festival , Philipp Jakob Siebenpfeiffer , in the spectacular assis trial against the Hambach actors before the jury court in Landau , which ended sensationally with an acquittal.

From 1865 to 1872 he was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies.

In 1871 he was elected to the Reichstag for the National Liberal Party in the constituency Pfalz 6 ( Kaiserslautern - Kirchheimbolanden ) , to which he belonged until his death.

The Golsen dynasty had a decisive influence on the cultural and economic events of the municipality of Zell in the 19th century, and the "Villa Golsen" still exists there today.
