Carol Weymuller Open 2012

The 2012 Carol Weymuller Open took place September 27-30 , 2012 in Brooklyn , New York City , United States . The women's squash tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2012/13 and belonged to the Gold 50 category .

Defending champion was Jenny Duncalf , who was eliminated in the quarter-finals that year. They lost to Nour El Sherbini with 0: 3. Laura Massaro defeated Raneem El Weleily 11: 8, 11: 4 and 11: 5 in the final . This was Massaro's first title at this tournament, in 2010 she had to admit defeat to Jenny Duncalf in the final.

The field of participants in the women's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. A wildcard was not awarded.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000.
