Carol Weymuller Open 2016

The 2016 Carol Weymuller Open took place October 18-24 , 2016 in Brooklyn , New York City , United States . The women's squash tournament was part of the women's PSA World Tour 2016/17 and belonged to the PSA 50 category .

Last year's winner Nour El Sherbini took part again and started the tournament in top shape. She repeated her title success with a 3-0 final win over Alison Waters .

The field of participants in the women's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Haley Mendez a spot in the main draw.

Prize money and world ranking points

At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000.
