Carol Weymuller Open 2006

The 2006 Carol Weymuller Open took place October 9-14 , 2006 in Brooklyn , New York City , United States . The women's squash tournament was part of the WSA World Tour 2006/07 and belonged to the WSA Silver 25 category . It acted as both the Carol Weymuller Open and the US Open . The prize money was $ 31,500.

Last year's winner was Nicol David , who did not participate again. The final won the top seeded Rachael Grinham against the second seeded Natalie Grainger 6: 9, 9: 6, 9: 1, 1: 9 and 9: 4. It was Grinham's 22nd title win on the World Tour.

The field of participants in the women's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. The best eight players were seeded. Per Wildcard received Meredeth Quick a spot in the main draw.
